Our First Workshop: Theory and Applied Projects

Our first Data Science Workshop will take place on Saturday 10th June at 5pm at Coworking 12, which can be found at Calle Segura, 12, 03004 Alicante.

This workshop will last for one hour, and it will be a presentation of both the theoretical nature of data science, as well as applied projects that the group can collaborate on to create a great data science portfolio.

We will go through basic theoretical principles of regression modelling, including:

– Ordinary Least Squares

– Violations of OLS models

– Significance tests

Also, various members have reached out requesting applied projects for the group to collaborate on. This will be very useful in creating a data science portfolio which we can all use, and we will go through several ideas that we had discussed in the last meetup, including:

– Kaggle Competitions

– Quantopian (Developing financial algorithms)

– Sports betting algorithms

– …Other ideas can be discussed as well!

Due to coworking space size, places for this workshop are limited to 8 people, so please RSVP soon if you would like to attend.

Look forward to seeing you there!

Best,

Michael
